A special home for my special piggies. This is a project I made by transforming a children’s playpen to a house for our guinea pigs.
The main project involved the strip down of the playpen and then the creation of the wooden exterior out of standards bed size pine boards painted with acrylics and then screwed in the playpen metal structure (actual drilling and the screwing).
The front side is foldable so as to ensure the piggies will not get out at night and can be folded to reduce the size of the fence in the morning. A second floor has been added for them to play and for us to place some treats.
The home has several other parts such as a hay contained created with wood and a metal fence in the front. A hay wheel, dual bottle container, auto feeder, etc. all downloaded from thingiverse and printed in my 3D printers.
