3D printing materials

The selection of type and brand of 3D printing materials is a subject of debate between makers.

As always many will argue that this selection is extremely important for the quality of your prints.

What I have found out of my 3D printing experience is that the number one reason for inferior printing quality is the quality and calibration of your 3D printer rather that any other factor.

So before going into material just make sure that your printer is mechanically ok and very well calibrated. Four are the most important factors

  • Bed levelling
  • Extruder calibration
  • Vibrations
  • Z-wobble

I propose going through several online resources and YouTube videos to make sure that everything runs appropriately with your printer. Probably after completing these steps you will not have to worry about filaments and printing quality as long as you are using the appropriate settings for each material type.
